- 2 1/4 c. sifted cake flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2/3 c. milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Prepare 2 (8-inch) round cake pans. Mix together flour, baking powder and salt.

3Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

4Blend in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

5Add milk and vanilla alternately with flour mixture, mixing well after each addition.

6Pour batter into prepared pans.

7Bake 20 to 30 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.

8Cool 10 minutes before removing from pans.

9Cool completely on wire racks before frosting with Fluffy White Frosting (recipe in this section).
