- 1/2 c. unsalted butter
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 tsp. good quality vanilla extract
- 1 dash salt
- 1 bag confectioners sugar
- 1/4 c. heavy cream
Directions

1Combine the butter, shortening, vanilla, and salt in a standing mixer using the paddle attachment (or in a large bowl with a hand mixer).

2Add the confectioners sugar 1 cup at a time, alternating with the milk or heavy cream, and blend until you have used it all.

3If the frosting is too thick, add more milk.

4If it is too thin, add more confectioners sugar.
