- 2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (scant)
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup melted butter or 1/2 cup margarine, slightly cooled
Directions

1Sift together the dry ingredients.

2Add the buttermilk, eggs and melted butter, mixing until there are no more lumps.

3This will make a very thick batter.

4Bake in a waffle iron according to the manufacturer's directions.

5*Note*:You may substitute an equal amount of yogurt, sour milk, sour cream, or cream for the buttermilk.
