Basic Cream Soup Base Recipe

Ingredients

  • Basic white sauce
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • Water
  • Sauce Bechamel, same as Basic White Sauce except lowfat milk is used instead of water

Directions

    Heat butter in saucepan.

    Add in flour and stir thoroughly.

    Add in warm water for white sauce or possibly lowfat milk for sauce bechamel.

    Stir vigorously, adding more liquid till desired thickness is reached.

    Cream soup can be made from either sauce by adding additional ingredients.
