Basic Hummus Recipe

  • 2 clv garlic, peeled and crushed
  • 2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 x (15 oz) can garbanzo beans, liquid removed, liquid reserved
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame seeds salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    In a medium saucepan over medium heat, cook and stir the garlic in extra virgin olive oil for approximately 3 min, till tender.

    Place garbanzo beans in a blender or possibly food processor with approximately 1 tsp.

    reserved liquid.

    Process till smooth.

    Fold in the garlic, sesame seeds, salt and pepper.

    Blend to desired consistency, increasing the amount of reserved garbanzo bean liquid as desired.

    Refrigeratein the refrigerator till serving.

    Makes 12 servings.
