Basic Italian Meat Sauce

  • 1 to 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 qt. stewed tomatoes, squished
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 large diced onion
  • 3 or 4 diced cloves garlic
  • 2 tsp. oregano
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar

Directions

    Brown ground beef, onion and garlic in skillet.

    In a large kettle, combine other ingredients.

    Drain meat mixture and add to kettle. Bring to a boil.

    Turn down to simmer and let cook 2 hours. Do not cover!

    Remove from heat.

    Use as is for spaghetti.
