  • 1 1/2 c. flour, not sifted
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • grated rind of one lemon
  • 5 Tbsp. butter, chilled
  • 3 Tbsp. vegetable shortening, chilled
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp. lemon vinegar

    Mix flour, sugar and lemon rind.

    Cut in butter and shortening.

    Add enough vinegar to hold pastry together.
