  • 1 12 cups fresh basil leaves, packed, approx 2 oz
  • 1 12 garlic cloves, minced
  • 14 cup grated parmesan cheese (1 oz)
  • 14 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons pine nuts (approx 0.5 oz) or 2 tablespoons almonds (approx 0.5 oz)
  • 14 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

    Put pine nuts/almonds into a dry skillet and cook on medium-low (4/10) until they brown.

    Watch the nuts carefully, and stir frequently as they burn easily, and don't take long to cook.

    Combine all ingredients into a food processor or blender and blend until a smooth paste.

    Tip: If not all ingredients combine well, shake or stir the container.

    Tip: If the pesto isn't the desired consistency, add more olive oil to make it smoother.
