Ingredients

  • 6 squash
  • 2 pieces 6-inch long celery
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 medium bell pepper
  • 1/3 to 1/2 stick margarine

Directions

    Place about 3/4-inch of water in saucepan.

    While bringing water to boil, add sugar, salt and pepper.

    Have burner on high at all times.

    Cook fast to a boil that can not be stirred out.

    Add pre-cut squash and other ingredients (except margarine) finely chopped.

    Cover until tender.

    Continue to boil hard until all the fluid is gone.

    Stir regularly.

    Add margarine.

    Stir until melted. Remove from heat.

    Cover and let stand until served.
