  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. cornmeal
  • 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 c. milk

Directions

    Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.

    Mix in cornmeal. Cut in shortening.

    Add and stir until blended, the egg and milk. Dip into batter 8 to 12 wieners.

    Fry in deep, hot fat (365°) until brown, about 2 to 3 minutes on each side.

    Drain on absorbent paper.

    Insert wooden skewer in end of each frankfurter. Serve with catsup.
