- 1 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. cornmeal
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 egg
- 3/4 c. milk
Directions

1Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.

2Mix in cornmeal. Cut in shortening.

3Add and stir until blended, the egg and milk. Dip into batter 8 to 12 wieners.

4Fry in deep, hot fat (365°) until brown, about 2 to 3 minutes on each side.

5Drain on absorbent paper.

6Insert wooden skewer in end of each frankfurter. Serve with catsup.
