  • 1 c. dry beans
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 whole clove
  • 1 lb. hambone or shank
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 4 c. water

Directions

    Cover beans with water and soak overnight.

    Drain.

    Put all ingredients in 4-quart cooker and boil several hours or cook in pressure cooker for 30 minutes.
