- 3 lb. bear meat, cubed
- 5 medium size potatoes, cubed
- 3 tomatoes or 1/2 c. ketchup
- 3/4 tsp. black pepper
- 2 Tbsp. bacon grease
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Brown meat well in hot fat.

2Season with salt and pepper. Cover with hot water and simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

3Add cubed vegetables and bay leaves, and cook slowly 25 minutes.

4When meat and vegetables are tender, thicken slightly with flour mixed with cold water.
