Ingredients

  • 3 lb. beef, cut in small cubes
  • 1/2 lb. bacon, cut into pieces
  • 2 large onions
  • 3 large carrots
  • 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 24 small white onions (I use frozen onions)
  • 1 lb. fresh mushrooms, sauteed in butter or 1 large can mushrooms
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 3 c. Burgundy wine
  • 2 cans beef bouillon
  • 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 1 bay leaf

    Peel and cook potatoes until soft; drain off water and mash.

    Add 1 (8 ounce) can sauerkraut or add 1/2 pound cheese to mashed potatoes with 1 teaspoon pepper.
