Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 3/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped bell pepper
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (8 oz.) can mushrooms
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (7 oz.) pkg. shell macaroni
  • 1 c. (8 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese

Directions

    Brown ground beef, onion, garlic, bell pepper and celery in a skillet; drain off excess fat.

    Combine with remaining ingredients, except the shredded cheese and cooked macaroni shells.

    Let it simmer until mixture thickens, then put into a 3-quart casserole dish over the macaroni.

    Bake, covered, at 350° for 45 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese and bake an additional 5 minutes.
