Beef-Cheese Loaves

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or more
  • 2 lb. lean ground chuck
  • 1/2 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 Tbsp. pickle relish, drained
  • 1/4 c. catsup
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Directions

    Saute onion in butter or margarine until soft.

    Combine beef, 1 3/4 cups cheese, relish, catsup, salt, Worcestershire and sauteed onion.

    Mix gently, but thoroughly.

    Shape mixture into 4 to 6 individual loaves.

    Turn loaves onto greased baking pan. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.

    About 5 minutes before end of baking time, sprinkle tops of loaves with remaining 1/4 cup cheese.

    Return to oven until cheese melts.
