Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 tsp. garlic juice
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 small cans tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
  • 16 oz. carton sour cream
  • 1 c. grated cheese
  • 4 green onions (tops and all)
  • 10 oz. pkg. medium egg noodles
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup

Directions

    Brown meat in butter; drain.

    Add garlic juice and simmer 20 minutes.

    Add tomato sauce, salt, pepper and sugar and simmer 15 minutes.

    In separate bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream and chopped onions.

    Set aside.

    Cook noodles.

    In large casserole dish or 2 small ones, layer noodles, meat, grated cheese and sour cream mixture, in that order.

    Cover top with undiluted mushroom soup. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.

    Let stand 10 minutes.

    Sprinkle extra cheese on top.
