Beef Loaf With Wine

- 2 lb. lean ground beef
- 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
- 1/2 c. chopped onions
- garlic powder
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 tsp. fresh tarragon or basil
- 1/4 c. melted butter
- red wine
Directions

1Mix first 8 ingredients together with 1/4 cup wine.

2Pack into a loaf pan lined with waxed paper and chill.

3Turn out on a cookie sheet and score top with the back of a knife.

4Mix together melted butter and 1/2 cup wine.

5Bake loaf in preheated 350° oven for 1 hour, basting occasionally with butter-wine mixture.

6Good with mushroom sauce or sour cream.

7Makes 6 to 8 servings.
