- 3 lb. round chuck roast
- 4 potatoes, quartered
- 4 carrots, quartered
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 can mushroom soup
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch, dissolved in water
- Worcestershire sauce to taste
- garlic
- pepper
- salt
Directions

1In skillet, put 1/4 cup of shortening; heat.

2Brown both sides of roast.

3Remove and place in roasting pan.

4Place potatoes and carrots around roast; place onions, salt, pepper and Worcestershire over roast, then add mushroom soup on top.

5Cook at 450° for one hour or until roast is ready.

6Put cornstarch in water around roast to make gravy.
