- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 4 lb. beef roast
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 c. water
Directions

1Heat pressure cooker and add shortening.

2Brown roast well on all sides; season with salt, pepper, bay leaf, onion, Worcestershire sauce and water.

3Close top securely.

4Place regulator at 15 pounds pressure and cook 40 to 45 minutes.

5Turn stove off; let pressure drop off on its own before opening.

6If desired, gravy can be made from liquid in cooker.

7Serves 6.
