- 2 lb. cubed beef
- 1/2 c. oil
- 3 (10 1/2 oz.) cans beef broth
- 3 cloves
- 2 peppercorns
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 lb. tiny new potatoes
- 8 to 10 carrots, pared and sliced
- 8 to 10 tiny onions, halved
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
Directions

1Brown beef cubes in oil; drain off fat.

2Add broth.

3Tie cloves, peppercorns and bay leaf in cheesecloth.

4Place in broth along with minced garlic.

5Bring to a boil; reduce heat.

6Simmer 1 1/2 hours.

7Add remaining ingredients.

8Cover and simmer 45 minutes or until tender.

9Remove bag of seasonings.

10Thicken as desired with flour.

11Makes 8 to 10 servings.
