  • 2 lb. chuck beef, cubed
  • 3 medium onions, sliced
  • 4 carrots, sliced
  • 4 medium potatoes, cubed
  • 3 small bay leaves
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire
  • 2 1/2 c. water
  • salt and pepper to taste
