- 2 lb. lean beef
- 1 to 3 onions, cut up
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt (if desired)
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 3 Tbsp. catsup
- 2 c. boiling water
Directions

1Cut beef in cubes.

2Brown in small amount of oil (use heavy ovenproof skillet, such as iron).

3Add onions.

4Mix flour, salt, pepper and cloves and put over browned beef.

5Add vinegar, catsup and boiling water to mixture.

6Stir and put on low heat for a few minutes.

7Cover with lid and bake at 300° to 325° until tender.
