  • 3 lb. lean round steak or other tender steak
  • 1/2 stick butter or margarine
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 1 to 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 lb. mushrooms, cut into quarters
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. tomato paste (optional)
  • 1 c. beef stock broth or consomme
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • salt and pepper
  • garnish with minced parsley

    Slice beef into 1/8-inch strips, lengthwise.

    Heat butter in a large frying pan and cook onions and garlic, stirring constantly, until golden. Add mushrooms and saute until golden. Remove onions, garlic and mushrooms to a small bowl.
