- 1 lb. beef chuck (1 1/2-inch cubes; may use better cut if desired)
- 1/2 c. chopped onion (optional)
- 1 clove garlic, crushed (can use dried)
- 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can beef gravy
- 1 (3 to 4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms
- 1/4 tsp. dried basil
- 1/4 c. water
Directions

1Coat meat in 2 tablespoons of flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt and a dash of pepper.

2Shake in bag.

3Brown.

4Add onion and garlic and cook for 3 minutes.

5Add gravy, mushrooms, basil and water.

6Cover and simmer 45 to 50 minutes, or until meat is tender.
