  • 1 lb. beef chuck (1 1/2-inch cubes; may use better cut if desired)
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion (optional)
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed (can use dried)
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can beef gravy
  • 1 (3 to 4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms
  • 1/4 tsp. dried basil
  • 1/4 c. water

Directions

    Coat meat in 2 tablespoons of flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt and a dash of pepper.

    Shake in bag.

    Brown.

    Add onion and garlic and cook for 3 minutes.

    Add gravy, mushrooms, basil and water.

    Cover and simmer 45 to 50 minutes, or until meat is tender.
