Beefy-Cabbage Soup

  • 1 lb. ground round
  • 1 small head cabbage, loosely chopped
  • 1 large jar chunky salsa (medium or hot)
  • 1 large or 2 small cans tomato sauce
  • 1 large or 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 2 cans kidney or pinto beans
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder or to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste

    Saute ground round and onions.

    Pour into crock-pot, along with salsa, tomato sauce, beans and seasonings.

    Fill salsa jar and tomato sauce cans with water; add to pot.

    Stir well.

    Add chopped cabbage.

    Simmer for several hours on low or for about 2 hours on high.
