  • 6 c. biscuit mix
  • 1 c. sugar
  • beer (at room temperature)
  • butter flavor shortening, melted

    Mix biscuit mix and sugar until blended.

    Add about 1/2 cup beer and add more as needed.

    Makes a wet tacky dough.

    Spoon dough onto a floured surface.

    Dust with flour.

    Pat out to a thickness of 1/2-inch.

    Cut out biscuits.

    Cover bottom of pan with shortening.

    Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 375°.
