Ingredients
- 1 1/2 to 2 lb. stew meat, cut into small pieces
- 1 medium onion, chopped up
- 1 can beer
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 clove garlic (optional)
- salt and pepper
Directions

1Put chopped onion and butter into a 3-quart boiler and cook until tender, stirring to keep from scorching, then add the seasoned meat to boiler.

2Stir until the meat is brown.

3Add one can of beer and one clove of garlic.

4Reduce the heat.

5Simmer until meat is tender.

6Remove the clove of garlic and add flour to thicken gravy.

7Add a little water to keep gravy smooth.

8Stir constantly.

9Remove from the heat.

10Serve warm with mashed potatoes, rice or egg noodles.
