  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2 c. warm milk
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. melted butter

    Sprinkle yeast over milk; stir to dissolve.

    Beat egg yolks; add to yeast mixture with vanilla.

    Add dry ingredients.

    Stir in melted butter.

    Beat egg whites until stiff; fold into batter.

    Let mixture stand in warm place until mixture doubles in bulk.

    Use 3/4 to 1 cup batter per waffle.

    Batter keeps well in refrigerator for a week.
