  • 5 granny smith apples, peeled, cored and large diced
  • 12 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 14 teaspoon baking powder
  • 14 teaspoon baking soda
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 12 cup butter, melted

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degree C).

    Peel, core and slice the apples into 1/4 - 1/2 inch pieces and place into a large bowl.

    Add to the bowl with the apples, the 1/2 cup sugar, corn starch and cinnamon.

    Stir until all the apple are coated with the sugar and cinnamon.

    Pour the apples into a 9x9 in baking pan, and pack down a little.
