Ingredients

  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1 c. chopped green peppers
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 or 2 (15 oz.) cans kidney beans
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans cut up tomatoes
  • 1 large can tomato paste
  • 1 to 2 minced cloves garlic
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp. chili powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp. salt

Directions

    Saute onion, green pepper and celery.

    Add ground beef and saute until meat is browned and vegetables are tender.

    Drain and add kidney beans.

    Add tomatoes and paste.

    Add garlic, salt and chili powder.

    Cover and simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

    Stir in some of the reserved liquid if you like and make to desired consistency.
