  • 1 lb. pitted dates
  • 3 c. walnuts
  • 2 (10 oz.) jars maraschino cherries, drained
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Pour dry ingredients over fruit; mix very well. Beat 3 eggs with vanilla, then pour over coated fruit and mix well. Put in greased and floured spring-form tube pan. Bake 1 to 1 1/2 hours at 325°, until toothpick comes out clean. Do not overbake.
