  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. Hershey's cocoa
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/3 c. melted butter
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/4 c. hot water

Directions

    Combine 3/4 cup sugar, flour, 1/4 cup cocoa, baking powder and salt. Stir in milk, butter and vanilla; beat with spoon until smooth. Pour batter into ungreased loaf pan. Mix 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa; sprinkle evenly over batter. Pour hot water over top. DO NOT MIX. Bake 40 to 45 minutes at 350°. Let stand 15 minutes. Serve hot with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
