  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Minced Garlic
  • 2 Tablespoons Dry Mustard
  • 3/4 cups White Sugar
  • 1- 3/4 quart Ketchup
  • 2 cans (14 Oz. Size) Crushed Tomatoes
  • 2 cans (14 Oz. Size) Tomato Sauce
  • 2- 1/4 cups Brown Sugar
  • 23 cups Vinegar
  • 13 cups Molasses
  • 1/4 cups Chili Powder
  • 1/4 cups Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Pickling Salt
  • 3 Tablespoons Liquid Smoke
  • 1 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 dash Ground Cloves

Directions

    In a large Dutch oven on the stove top, stir the olive oil and minced garlic together over low heat for 5 minutes.

    Stir together the dry mustard and white sugar so the dry mustard will dissolve when added.

    Add that and all the remaining ingredients into the pot and heat to a simmer over low heat, stirring often until all the sugars are dissolved.

    Ladle into clean jars and store up to 1 month in the refrigerator.

    This makes 9 pints of BBQ sauce.
