Ingredients

  • 4 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
  • 1 bag miniature marshmallows
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 (12 oz.) bag chocolate chips
  • 3/4 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Place marshmallows, sugar, salt and evaporated milk in a large saucepan (4 to 5-quart size) on medium-high heat until the marshmallows melt.

    After they have melted, the mixture will start to boil.

    Boil the mixture for 5 minutes.

    You must stir constantly or the sugar will burn.)

    After 5 minutes of boiling, take the saucepan off the heat and quickly beat in the butter (or margarine), the chocolate chips and the vanilla.

    Once everything is mixed together, pour it into a buttered 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Place in the refrigerator to set.
