Bircher Muesli

Ingredients

  • 12 cup sunflower seeds
  • 13 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 13 cup linseeds
  • 1 13 cups sultanas (or any combination of dried fruit)
  • 23 cup buckwheat groats
  • 1 13 cups barley, flakes
  • 2 cups oats
  • 12 cup slivered almonds

Directions

    Mix all ingredients together.

    Put 1/2 cup of the muesli in a bowl with 1/2 cup of cold water, milk or juice, stir, cover and leave overnight in the fridge to soak.

    For a quick breakfast, prepare as above, cook on high for 1-3 minutes in the microwave.

    Serving suggestions: stir in fresh grated raw apple or other fresh fruit just before serving.

    To enhance the healthful properties serve with low fat yoghurt and a spoonful of (manuka) honey.
