- 2 c. sifted self-rising flour
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 2/3 to 3/4 c. milk
Directions

1Cut shortening into flour with pastry blender until fine as corn meal.

2Add milk all at once and stir quickly to make soft but not sticky.

3If too stiff, add more milk.

4Knead dough gently; roll out dough and cut out biscuits.

5Makes 14 to 16 biscuits. Preheat oven to 450°.
