- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 oz. German sweet chocolate
- 2 c. pecans, finely chopped
- 1 c. dates, chopped
- 1 c. maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
Directions

1Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together.

2Cut chocolate into small pieces.

3Add chocolate, nuts, dates and cherries to flour mixture.

4Beat eggs with mixer until foamy.

5Add sugar gradually, beating until eggs are thick and light.

6Add flour mixture; mix well.

7Turn mixture into greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan.

8Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.

9Cool and slice.
