Ingredients
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 c. milk, scalded
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chocolate chips
- 1 pkg. gelatin
- 1/4 c. cold water
- grated chocolate (unsweetened, as desired)
- 1 baked pie shell
Directions

1Separate eggs.

2Beat egg yolks well.

3Add to hot milk, 1/2 cup sugar and cornstarch.

4Cook until thickened in double boiler. Divide mixture in half.

5To first half, add 1 cup chocolate chips while hot.

6When chocolate chips are dissolved, pour into baked pie shell.

7Add to 2nd half of mixture, gelatin that has been dissolved in 1/4 cup cold water.

8Fold well beaten egg whites with 1/2 cup sugar.

9Pour this mixture over chocolate mixture filling in pie shell.

10Sprinkle with grated unsweetened chocolate.

11Chill and serve.

12Have pie shell cooked and cooled before starting pie.
