- 2 1/4 c. cake flour
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. salad oil
- 3/4 c. water
- 7 unbeaten egg yolks
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. black walnuts, finely chopped
- 7 egg whites
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Directions

1Combine dry ingredients in a mixing bowl and then add oil, water, yolks and vanilla.

2Beat until smooth.

3Add walnuts.

4Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until very stiff.

5Fold egg whites into first mixture.

6Pour into ungreased tube pan.

7Preheat oven to 325° and bake cake 1 hour or until done.
