- 3 c. sugar
- 2 sticks butter
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 5 eggs
- 3 c. cake flour or plain flour
- 1 can or 2 pkg. black walnuts, crushed
- 1 c. milk
- 2 tsp. black walnut flavoring
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder, mixed with flour
Directions

1Let butter soften to room temperature.

2Use a fork to mix sugar, butter and Crisco together very thoroughly.

3Start with a mixer.

4Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.

5Start adding flour and milk, alternating, mixing well. Add flavoring last, then use a spoon to mix walnuts in last. Start with cold oven.

6Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
