  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1-1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1-1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. CALUMET Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 pkg. (4 oz. each) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, broken into pieces, melted

Directions

    Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with mixer until light and fluffy.

    Blend in egg and vanilla.

    Add combined flour, baking powder and salt; beat until well blended.

    Refrigerate 1 hour.

    Roll out dough to 1/8-inch thickness on lightly floured surface.

    Cut into heart shapes, using 2-inch cookie cutter and rerolling dough scraps as necessary.

    Place, 2 inches apart, on parchment paper-covered baking sheet.

    Refrigerate 30 min.

    Heat oven to 350F.

    Bake cookies 10 min.

    or until edges are lightly browned.

    Let stand on baking sheet 5 min.

    Dip 1 side of each cookie in chocolate.

    Return to racks; let stand until chocolate is firm.
