- 1 c. Crisco
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. canned blackberries (undrained)
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. allspice
Directions

1Cream Crisco and sugar until light and fluffy.

2Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

3Sift flour and measure.

4Add soda and spices and sift twice more.

5Add to creamed mixture alternately with blackberries.

6Pour into 2 well greased and floured 9-inch cake pans.

7Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.
