- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 1 cup flour, all-purpose
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 x blackberries or cherries
Directions

1Cream 1/2 cup sugar and butter; blend in flour, baking powder and salt.

2Stir in milk; pour into greased 8 x 8 inch baking dish.

3Cover with blackberries.

4Bake at 325 to 350F (180C) for about 45 minutes.

5Sprinkle top with remaining sugar; bake for 5 to 10 minutes longer.
