- 1 qt. pork or beef blood (warm)
- 2 c. rye meal
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 3/4 lb. diced lard
- 3/4 lb. diced pork
- 10 tart apples, diced
- white flour to make a medium thin batter
Directions

1Mix all ingredients and put into cloth casings, about 10 inches long, by 4 inches round.

2Leave room for expansion.

3Cook in boiling water for about 2 hours until done.

4Remove from bags, slice and fry in butter.

5Good with syrup and hot bread.
