  • 4 cups fresh blueberries
  • 34 cup sugar
  • 13 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • baking powder
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 cups quick-cooking oats

Directions

    In a large saucepan, combine blueberries, sugar, water, corn starch and salt.

    Cook over medium heat until thickened, about 10 minutes.

    Set aside.

    In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and baking powder.

    Cut in butter with a pastry cutter or two knives.

    Stir in brown sugar and oats.

    Press half into 13 x 9 inch baking dish that has been greased.

    Pour blueberry mixture on top; top with remaining flour mixture.

    Bake at 350* for 45 minutes, until top is slightly browned.

    Let cool and cut into bars.
