- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup raw sugar or demerara
- 1 pint blueberries
- 1 egg
- 4 tablespoons butter melted
- 1 cup buttermilk
- powdered sugar to dust
Directions

1Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease and line the bottom of an 8 x 4 inch loaf pan with parchment paper.

2Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg and a good pinch of salt into a large bowl. Stir in the demerara sugar and blueberries. Beat the egg, butter and buttermilk in a medium bowl. Stir into the dry ingredients. Spoon into the prepared pan.

3Bake for 1 hour, until risen, golden on top, and coming away from the sides of pan. Cool in pan 10 mins. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar.
