  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 pt. blueberries

    Cream sugar and shortening.

    Beat in all other ingredients. Fold in blueberries.

    Makes one 9 x 13-inch or two 8-inch square cakes.

    Line pan with waxed paper and bake at 350° for 40 minutes, then increase to 375° for 10 minutes to brown top.
