Boiled Custard

  • 3 qt. milk
  • 8 whole eggs
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Heat milk until it's too hot to stick your finger into (do not let it boil).

    Beat eggs and sugar together until foamy.

    Pour quickly into hot milk, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and will coat a spoon about 20 to 25 minutes.

    Remove from heat and add vanilla.

    Cool and refrigerate.

    The custard will get thicker as it cooks.
