  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • walnuts
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1 cube margarine or butter
  • 1 c. water

    Simmer raisins in margarine or butter and 1 cup water until plump.

    Set aside to cool.

    In another bowl, put in all remaining ingredients and 1/2 cup water.

    Beat, then add walnuts and raisin mixture.

    In glass 7 1/2 x 7 1/2-inch pan, bake at 325° longer than 40 minutes.

    In 7 1/2 x 7 1/2-inch tin, bake at 350° for about 40 minutes.
