- 1 1/2 lb. young turnips
- water
- salt
- pepper
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 to 4 Tbsp. pork fat or margarine
Directions

1Wash and peel turnips.

2Slice in 1/4-inch slices.

3In kettle or pot, cover turnips with water, 1 teaspoon salt and salt pork. Boil 15 to 20 minutes or until tender.

4Drain; season with salt, pepper and sugar.

5Dress with plenty of margarine.
